Fossil fuels! We use them and at the same time, hate them! But did you know that fossil fuels are at the heart of plastic production too?! The basic components, ethylene and propylene, are procured only from the process of extracting fossil fuels. This further incentivizes the fossil fuel industry, which is the opposite of what we should be doing, right? On the other hand, the production of areca palm leaf plates is very eco-friendly. All it takes is some fallen leaves(mind you, nothing that hasn’t already fallen off the tree is ever used!), some sunlight and water to create the perfect set of plates. That’s a clear K.O. for areca over plastic!
