Adaaya uses a hydraulic machine to mould and punch the plate of the sheath. Moreover, it can get any shape out of the sheath, so as to ensure as little of the sheath is left over in the end. A bath! That’s what the leaves need once they’re dried. Besides keeping the leaves clean, this has another purpose too. At the start and after drying, the leaf sheath is hard and not very easy to bend. Washing it with water makes it malleable, meaning it can be bent into any necessary shape. Adaaya’s employees wash each leaf down till they’re exactly how they want them. This enables Adaaya to make the perfect square, round, elliptic or boat-shaped plate or bowl that you want!

Unity in strength! Remember that tale about the sticks that broke when separated but were as strong as a brick when tied together? Well, our palm leaves are bundled up just like that once they’re done sunbathing! Of course, in this case, it’s for convenience of storage and movement, and not for strength! They’re bundled up and kept ready for future use, whenever necessary!
